Foresight Leadership

About Us

OUR HISTORY

Foresight-MFLC originated in 1991, when a group of fire officers began developing a structured method to support decision making at emergency scenes. Working in their own time, they sought a way to bring consistency, foresight, and coordination to moments of uncertainty, limited information, and high consequence.

As doctors, paramedic officers, and senior figures from humanitarian response joined the effort, the system proved itself to be strategically valuable in the longer term context  of international development.

Today, Foresight–MFLC is used internationally across government, healthcare, NGO, commercial, and academic sectors.

OUR ETHOS

Our approach is rooted in the emergency and humanitarian services and is shaped by years of responding internationally to events where life, health, property, and the environment are at risk.

These experiences have taught us the value of preparation, consistent leadership, and care for both physical and mental health. We have seen that wellbeing and high performance are closely linked, especially under pressure.

We reject all forms of coercion, bullying and force, whether through military style authoritarianism or the insidious misuse of victimhood to control others. Foresight-MFLC promotes a healthy, consenting relationship between leaders and followers that is built on trust, with a focus on shared purpose, respect, and support in both calm and challenging times.

OUR PEOPLE

Our team brings together experience from the emergency and humanitarian sectors.

  • Senior fire and rescue officers with extensive organisational capability building experience.

  • Emergency and primary care doctors and paramedics with vast international experience of health systems strengthening in low-resource settings.

  • Humanitarian aid workers with extensive field experience in conflict zones, refugee support, natural disasters, and global health emergencies
